In order to rationally develop and utilize Jinsha River hydropower resources, increase renewable energy supply and promote economic and social development in ethnic areas, the National Development and Reform Commission formally approved the start-up construction of Batang Hydropower Station on the Jinsha River on October 18, 2017. The project is to be constructed and managed by China Huadian Group Jinsha River upstream Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. China National Electric Construction Group Northwest Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. is responsible for the project investigation and design work. The approval of Batang Hydropower Station marked the successful completion of the preliminary design work for Batang Hydropower Station, the construction of the main project started in full swing and the project construction entered a new phase.
