霍山地处大别山腹地，是安徽西部一个边远小县，经济文化都比较落后，是全国270个贫困县之一。但“穷则思变”，贫穷和落后使霍山人深深认识到：“始穷先治愚”，要改变霍山的落后面貌，就必须大力发展教育事业，提高人口素质。正是这种不甘贫穷的干劲和革命老区勇于奉献的精神
Huoshan is located in the hinterland of the Dabie Mountains. It is a remote county in the west of Anhui Province. It is economically and culturally backward, and it is one of the 270 impoverished counties in the country. However, “Poor things change”, and poverty and backwardness make Huoshan people deeply realize that “Beginning to be the first to rule and fooling first” and to change Huoshan’s backwardness, we must vigorously develop education and improve the quality of the population. It is this unwillingness for poverty and the spirit of devotion in the old revolutionary base areas.
