12月18日获悉:SGI自一年以前首次推出从1到128个处理器的Origin系统以来,到现在已经售出了超过1万套系统。 SGI宣布了64个处理器Origin2000和CRAY Origin2000系统可大量供应以及这些高端系统不断增长的安装数量。目前已有60多套系统分别在全球商业、政府、工业、研究和大学客户中落户,说明这类系统的市场需求很大。Origin产品系列的迅速采用证实了业界转向cc-NUMA结构的趋势,Origin成了工程、科学和商业等所有数据集计算的首选平台。
December 18: SGI has sold more than 10,000 systems since it first introduced the Origin system from 1 to 128 processors a year ago. SGI announced the availability of 64 processors, the Origin2000 and CRAY Origin2000 systems, and the growing installed base of these high-end systems. At present, more than 60 systems have been set up among global commercial, government, industrial, research and university customers respectively, indicating that there is a great market demand for such systems. The rapid adoption of the Origin product family confirms the industry’s shift to the cc-NUMA architecture and Origin has become the platform of choice for all datasets in engineering, science and commerce.
