《傣族简史草稿》是方国瑜先生的新现著作。此书稿涉及傣族的渊源和现况、社会历史发展、傣族与其他民族人民的关系、傣族与国外各族的联系、傣族经济文化的成就与特征等五个方面,体例简明但内容翔实,语言精炼且史料丰富,不仅能与《元代云南行省傣族史料编年》相互映衬,而且扩充傣族史内容,推进傣族史的研究,更体现了方先生的治学求进精神。
“A Brief History of Dai” is a new book by Mr. Fang Guoyu. This manuscript covers five aspects: the origin and current status of the Dai people, social and historical development, the relations between the Dai people and other ethnic groups, the ties between the Dai people and other ethnic groups, the achievements and characteristics of the Dai people’s economic and cultural fields. Besides, the rich historical materials not only complement each other with the “Dynasties of Dai historical data in Yunnan Province during the Yuan Dynasty”, but also expand the contents of Dai history and promote the study of Dai history.
