The Soviet Union introduced the reverse dual-flow horizontal caster developed by the Soviet Union on the METEC’84 (International Metallurgical Equipment and Technology Exhibition 1984) held in West Germany with drawings and projection videos. Molten steel from the ladle into the preheated tundish, and then into the horizontal reciprocating motion of the water-cooled crystallizer, the formation of two reverse pulled out of the slab. The Soviet Union claims that due to this reciprocating effect, the solidification in the strand is bidirectional, eliminating the non-uniformity of the metallurgical structure along the length of the strand
