1998年6月,福建省三明市公安局刑警支队技术大队通过对铁路沿线地区入室盗窃案件的串并案分析,借用现代指纹自动识别系统,在福建省公安厅刑警总队的大力支持下,成功地从全省22万份指纹档案库中查询认定了流窜盗窃犯罪嫌疑人林奶光(男,26岁,福安市人,曾因盗窃被判刑入狱5年,刑满释放后又因盗窃被检察院批捕后脱逃),进而指导侦破缉捕行动,经三元公安分局的周密布控,一举缉获了林奶光、林伟、王成光、林惠平4名福安籍流窜盗窃团伙成员。经进一步审查,破获3月份以来发生在梅列区、三元区、永安市、沙县等铁路沿线地区的入室盗窃系列积案68起,案值30余万元。成功破获林奶光系列盗窃案,不仅明显地改变了盗窃案件破案率低的不利局面,而且在运用刑事技术指导侦查破案方面实现了新的跨越,留给我们诸多思考。
