目前在乌桕林分中,劣种低产株占有相当大的比重。从广西植物研究所对各省区乌桕产区所进行的调查来看,平均株产桕籽仅1.58斤。而一般高产单株可达50-60斤。因此,在推广小苗嫁接的同时,有必要对现有的劣种低产大树进行换种改造。为此,我们于1981-1982年进行了乌桕大树高枝换种技术的研究,在探索嫁接技术、包扎方法、嫁接部位、砧木年龄、砧木粗度和接穗品种等因子与愈合成活、新梢生长、冠幅形成和早实性表现等的关系方面取得一些进展,现报告如下。
