一、导言语言是社会交际的工具。说话人通过语言形式表达语义内容。听话人通过语言形式理解语义内容。语言交际的目的,就是要使语义内容得到正确的、充分的理解。语言形式和语义内容的对立和统一,决定语言交际的全部过程。我们研究一种语言,就要详细考察这种语言的语言形式和语义内容之间的关系。各民族的语言形式互不相同,但是语义内容在各民族之间却是相同的,否则翻译就会成为不可能。我们在这里只讲汉语的语言形式跟语义内容的
I. Introduction Language is a tool of social communication. The speaker expresses the semantic content by language. Listeners understand the semantic content by language. The purpose of language communication is to make the semantic content be correctly and fully understood. Opposition and unity of language form and semantic content determine the whole process of language communication. When we study a language, we must examine in detail the relationship between the linguistic form of the language and its semantic content. The languages of different nations are different from each other, but the semantic content is the same among all nations, otherwise the translation becomes impossible.
