Objective To observe the effects of atorvastatin calcium on serum lipids and inflammatory factors in patients with coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia. Methods A total of 316 patients with coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia were divided into two groups according to a random number table. The control group received 157 mg of simvastatin orally daily, and 159 patients in the treatment group received oral atorvastatin 10 mg daily. Both groups were given conventional treatment. Two months later, the levels of TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, TG, TNF-α, CRP and MMP-9 were compared before and after treatment. Results The levels of TC, TG, LDL-C, CRP, TNF-α and MMP-9 in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P <0.05 or P <0.01) After treatment, the levels of TC, TG, LDL-C, CRP, TNF-α, MMP-9 and HLD-C in the treatment group were significantly different from those in the control group (all P <0.05). Conclusions Atorvastatin calcium can reduce the level of serum lipids and inflammatory factors in patients with coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia, improve vascular endothelial function, with fewer side effects and better curative effect than simvastatin, which has clinical value.
