Geoffrey Chaucer (ca. 1340-1440), known as the father and poet of the British language, is still today one of the three or four greatest poets in Britain today almost six centuries later. He was the first one to recapitulate his interest in nature, books and various characters in his poems, so that his poems have a lasting and extensive charm. He is as versatile as Shakespeare, and his contribution to narrative poetry can be comparable to Shakespeare’s play. If his work is not as deep and subtle as Shakespeare, then the mood of humor and easy to understand
