当我们把目光投向世界第一大洋——太平洋,就会发现在距今5000多年前,有一群人就开始了纵横大洋的壮举,他们就是“南岛语族”。南岛语族的分布范围超乎想象:北到夏威夷群岛、中国台湾,南抵新西兰,西到西印度洋的马达加斯加,东达东南太平洋的复活节岛。这个人口达2.7亿的庞大种族,有人估计其语言种类已超过1200种。而无论经过多长时间,对于大海的渴望始终潜伏在这个悍勇、无畏的民族的血脉中。
When we turn our attention to the Pacific Ocean, the world’s largest ocean, we will find that a group of people started their vast feat over more than 5,000 years ago, and they are the “Austronesian family.” The distribution of the Austronesian family beyond the imagination: the Hawaii Islands to the north, Taiwan, arrived in New Zealand south, west of Madagascar West Indies, east of Easter Island in the southeast Pacific. This huge population of 270 million people, some estimates of its language has more than 1,200 species. No matter how long after, the lust for the sea has always lurked in the blood of this brave and fearless nation.
