吴天,现代剧作家、著名电影导演。原名洪为济、洪吴天,江苏省扬州市人,1912年旧历7月15日生。吴天同志在青年时代就开始从事进步文艺活动。1927年加入中国共产主义青年团,1931年在上海美术专科学校领导学生运动,参加大学联、自由大同盟,左翼戏剧家联盟工作;1933年到南京做左翼戏剧工作;1935年赴日本学习戏剧,并组织“中华戏剧座谈会”,1936年赴马来亚做抗日救亡工作和革命戏剧工作,组织和领导当地抗敌后援会;1938年加入马来亚共产党,回国后在上海转入中国共产党,做党的地下工作,并从事革命戏剧活动。新中国成立后,吴天同志专事电影工作,为发展人民的电影事业,进行了不懈的努力。在这长达四十多年的革命文艺生涯中,吴天同志为人民献出了众多的艺术作品。他先后写作了《洪水》、《伤兵医院》、《春回来了》、《海恋》等话剧剧本,出版了散文集《怀祖国》、翻译了剧本《马门教授》、法国柯克兰的戏剧理论《表演艺术论》、苏联泰洛夫的《演剧论》等书;导演过《上海屋檐下》、《北京人》、法国的《祖国》等剧;还创作了《喜迎春》、《走向新中
