Vincci Gala, housed in an old building in Barcelona, Spain. This 4-star hotel has a total of 78 rooms, as well as bars, restaurants, meeting rooms and various terraces. The new hotel has two main design requirements: first, the monument protection department of Barcelona requires the preservation of the building’s facade and the white marble staircase inside the building; and secondly, the name gala in the hotel name means surrealist painter Salvador Dali’s wife Gala, the hotel’s design should pay tribute to the famous artist. Gala and Dali are incomprehensible couple, too many people are surprised at the combination of them. Similarly, the project also needs to reconcile multiple new and old, simple and luxurious, multiple comparisons between elegance and leisure.
