Colorectal cancer metastasis-associated gene-1 (MACC1) is a new gene discovered and named by Stein et al. In 2009 using differential display RT-PCR in colon cancer. The study found that MACC1 in a variety of malignant tumors there is abnormally high expression, involved in tumor occurrence, development and metastasis and many other aspects. MACC1 has strong correlation with the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of tumor, and can be used as an independent marker of metastasis and prognosis, providing a new direction and target for the treatment of malignant tumors.
