2009年7月14日,第八次全国归侨侨眷代表大会正在北京人民大会堂举行。胡锦涛总书记等中央政治局全体常委向此次荣膺“全国侨界十杰”称号的十位杰出人士颁奖。其中最引人瞩目的当属年届九十高龄的世界著名数学家吴文俊先生。在中国,乃至世界科学领域,吴文俊先生都是颇具影响力的杰出学术领军人物。作为中国科学院资深院士和第三世界科学院院士,吴文俊先生以其对科学的重大贡献,相继荣获首届国家自然科学一等奖、首届国家最高科学技术奖、中国科学院自然科学一等奖等诸多国内外重大奖项。
