“Plant loam and earthworm” (commonly known as “earthworms”) is a special book published by the famous biologist Charlie Darwin (1809-1882) for more than 40 years of research and writing and published in the first half of his death. It elaborates on the physiology and ecology of earthworms and their role in the formation of plant loam. It is not only a precious scientific research report, but also an excellent popular science book. The first edition was published in London on October 10, 1881. This year’s day is its hundredth birthday. Darwin, in the first paragraph of this book’s introductory remarks, explicitly stated: “Earthworms make a great contribution to the formation of plant loam, the subject of this book, which is distributed in every moderately moist area ”Then went on to say:" Some people may think this issue is not important, but we do not know the exact relationship. Moreover, the so-called ’law is not subtle’
