1. Basic Features of Stratigraphic Constructions The former Sinian strata in eastern Hunan are widely distributed, accounting for about 60% of the exposed area of the whole strata. They are a set of super-thick super-metamorphic rock series with the Lengjiaxi Group as the oldest , Lithology of gray-green volcanic rocks and slate-hosted metamorphic complex sandstone. The slate generally has a thick layer with relatively simple lithology. The lower metamorphic volcanic rocks develop with rhyolitic tuffs in the middle and lower parts, Tuff slate. The upper Banxi Group is a set of clastic rocks with a thickness of about 2000 m. The rhythm of the flysch is quite obvious.
