五华区平坡小学,原为昆明市平板玻璃厂子弟小学,在划属五华区前,由于玻璃厂经济萧条,致学校年久失修,勉强维持办学,虽占地12亩,却仅有70多名学生。2008年8月,五华区教育局拨款100多万元对原有校舍全面修善,使学校焕然一新,也促进了学校的发展。近年来,平坡小学办学水平、教育质量不断提升,在校学生已增至300多人。其中,最具影响力之一的是我们的“假日学校”。
