大连是中国近代史上帝国主义入侵中国后建立和发展起来的典型城市之一。大连城市的出现,不同于以往城市产生的规律,它被动地采用了外国文明,侵略成了城市发展的非自觉性的历史工具。大连城市形成、发展并发生文化转型的主要原因是俄日殖民者的侵入与不同的统治经营理念,这是推动大连城市经济发展和文化转型的直接动因;另一方面,相对稳定的政治环境,优越的地理条件也为大连的经济发展创造了机遇;而爱国实业家的辛苦创业与新型知识分子的强国意识则是城市发展与文化转型的内在动因。
Dalian is one of the typical cities established and developed by imperialist invasion of China in modern Chinese history. The appearance of Dalian city is different from the law of the past cities. It adopts the foreign civilization passively and becomes an unconscious historical tool of urban development. The main reason for the formation, development and cultural transformation of Dalian’s cities is the invasion of Russian-Japanese colonialists and different management concepts. This is the direct motivation for promoting the urban economic development and cultural transformation of Dalian. On the other hand, the relatively stable political environment, Superior geographical conditions also created opportunities for the economic development of Dalian. However, the painstaking pioneering by patriotic industrialists and the awareness of strengthening the nation by new intellectuals are the intrinsic motives for urban development and cultural transformation.
