主井通过表土流砂层多采用冻结等各种特殊凿井法,由于工艺复杂,需特殊的设备施工,因而工期长、工程造价高。本文介绍的碎石护壁自重沉井过表土流砂层施工法,系利用沉箱自重压迫刃脚切入第四系表土流砂层,人工进行挖掘,随着沉箱刃脚切入下沉而接高加重沉箱,再挖掘、下沉、接高沉箱,直到刃脚插入风化基岩,最终内套壁成井。此种施工法克服了冻结等各种特殊凿井法的弊端。
