紫砂壶艺源远流长,昔日,宜兴鼎蜀镇的制壶者以其聪慧、辛勤和精细的劳作,加上各方文人、艺术家满怀雅兴的参与,使紫砂这种特殊的泥料通过壶艺的形式,被塑造、熔就成有如金玉般的宝物。不仅如此,好的壶艺作品逐渐成为各种象征意义上的“物”,文化知识意义上的“物”,日益为人们所珍视,在影响和改变人们物质生活的同时,更多的是协调和丰富人们的精神生活。紫砂壶艺本身也在这一进程中被不断总结经验,改进技艺和更新观念。 如今作为新手,我们无疑得益于优秀的紫砂壶艺传统,也倍感欲在这一领域的前瞻和创意,根本就不违优秀传统的真义。因为像“石瓢”等优秀的传世之作,当时多是生机勃勃、别具一格的创意之作。现在,依然经得起推敲。因此,优秀的紫砂壶艺作为一种熏陶,一种引导,一种生活方式和一种观念,为世人所认可,得以流传并不断地纳新和充实。而这种纳新和充实,我认为理应也可能是对该时代作出较多方位、较深层次的反应,并出现与之相对应的新颖多样、有时代气息的形态。否则,在回顾和踌躇中的守业才有违优秀传统的本意。出自这等理念和愿望,我与宜兴的一些年轻人携手合作了系列作品─—型意紫砂,旨在通过对紫砂壶的造型寓
