安徽省凤台县水利建设事业至今已走过50个春秋,50年坚持不懈的治水,50年艰苦卓绝的奋斗,使凤台水利建设从无到有,由低水平向高效能、高科技、现代化的方向迈进,从根本上改变了昔日的旧面貌,全县人民逐渐摆脱贫困走上了富裕的道路。据了解,截止1999年底,全县有效灌溉面积达76万亩,占总耕地的89％;除涝面积36.3万亩,占总耕地的75％;农民人均纯收入2068元(1978年仅为46元);粮食产量5.72亿公斤(1978年为2.98亿公斤)。曾多次被评为全国、省、市水利兴修先进县,被誉为“淮上明珠”、“淮北江南,胜似江南”。
