“天志”与“明鬼”是墨子宗教伦理思想的基础,其宗教伦理思想内蕴丰富的伦理奖惩、伦理报应学说。墨子认为,天下为天之所生,故而当以天为法,因循天志寻求人道,进而以此阐解人之生存困境的超越,其中的“爱”与“善”富有人伦调适的社会功用。墨子通过经验三表法证明鬼神的存在及其神明,内在地隐含了“天”“鬼”“人”之间诉求的伦理共通性,为人道至善的合法性提供了确证。因此,墨子的“天”“鬼”论是人间的宗教,具有劝善除恶的伦理奖惩功用。
