In recent years, the number of newspapers and periodicals in the Soviet Union has increased and their quality has been raised. The restoration of the principle of Leninism in the party and state life and the full development of socialist democracy have greatly activated the work of newspapers and magazines and the vigorous development of the worker-peasant correspondent movement. We have done a certain amount of work in overcoming the hollowness and the lack of understanding and learning habits in the propaganda. The role of newspapers and periodicals in our country’s economic and political life has been enhanced. Newspapers have begun to articulate economic issues more professionally. More recently, newspapers have adopted a wide variety of forms and political issues have multiplied. Much has been done in further developing the movement of workers and peasants correspondents.
