明代六安喻本元、喻本亨所著《元亨疗马集》是一部宝贵的兽医经典古籍,所载成方验术,深切实用,三百多年来对我国民间兽医技术的发展起着极其重要的作用。《元亨疗马集》有两种版本,一为明刻的丁宾序本,另一为清刻的许锵序本。由于丁宾版本的发现,喻氏兄弟的生平及其作序岁月,可据以作初步考证。丁宾在明万历年间颇具宦声,后诏进太子太保,明史有传,句容县有《丁侯德政纪碑文》。
