Research shows that fossilization has to be solved by a conscious comparison between the mother tongue and the foreign language learnt. Thus, for EFL pronunciation courses for Chinese students, it should be concentrated on those features of English which are not found in Chinese, without neglecting the similarities of "the two languages in the sound system. Special attention should be paid to those seem-to-be-like sounds.
