苏格兰研究人员正在建造一台实验性超级计算机。这种计算机的硬件能进行自我配置,从而解决不同的软件问题。这套在建的计算机系统将采用现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)芯片以取代传统的微处理器。与类似大小的传统计算机相比,FPGA 超级计算机功能会更强大,更有效率。这台计算机的研究人员认为,如果它能使程序编制足够容易的话,在未来的十年中,它将开创一个小巧而节能的超级计算机新时代。
Scottish researchers are building an experimental supercomputer. The hardware of this computer can be self-configured to solve different software problems. The computer system under construction will use Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chips to replace traditional microprocessors. Compared to similarly sized traditional computers, FPGA supercomputers are more powerful and more efficient. Researchers at this computer believe that if it can make programming easy enough, in the next decade, it will create a new era of compact and energy-efficient supercomputers.
