1999年1月20日,上海下岗女工李金娣在上海虹桥机场随特地来沪迎接她的加拿大雇主飞赴英伦,她是申城数万家庭服务员中第一个去国外打工的女性。(一)1960年,李金娣出身在上海的一个工人家庭,她从小就秉承了父母勤劳朴素、诚实善良的优良品质。在学校,她是一个班干部、三好学生;在家中,她是一个好女儿。1977年,李金娣从上海延安中学毕业,分配在上海塑料制品七厂当工人。1996年,李金娣所在的工厂进行产业结构调整,她开始品尝下岗的滋味。李金娣生性好强,在家里清闲得发慌,就抱起了女儿上课用
