后湾水库水利风景区地处长治市襄垣县虒亭镇境内,位于海河流域浊漳河西源上,是一座以防洪为主、兼顾农业灌溉、工业供水、水产养殖等综合利用的大型水库,总库容为1.3亿m~3,水面面积1 296 km~2,距襄垣县城30 km,水库左岸为208国道和太焦铁路,交通便利。景区内自然生态品种繁多,有国家保护动物天鹅、野鸭、大雁、野兔等,还有供游人娱乐的水上乐园和垂钓园,织就了一幅“湖光山色河蜿蜒,鸟语林静花飘香。晚霞倒映如仙境,无限风光在后湾”的和谐画卷。2011年7月,被评为省级水利风景区。
