网络叙词表是重要的网络信息组织工具,目前已投入使用的网络叙词表根据宏观结构的不同可以分为3种类型,它们主要用于网络信息资源描述和检索系统两个方面。虽然网络叙词表在组成上与印刷本叙词表没有大的差异,但在其生成和实现方式上有很多不同点,而且它在入口界面、词汇控制和标识系统3个微观结构方面也有着显著的特征和优势。同时,网络叙词表在宏观结构和微观结构方面也有必要进行一系列优化,以完善其使用功能。
