从事翻译工作,不仅要掌握两种语言(原语和译语),而且要对所译对象有基本的了解,并具有与所译对象相关的背景知识。在阅读书刊时,笔者发现不少错译、误译,其中有些错误并不是因为译者对原语理解出错或译语表达不当造成的,而是由于译者缺乏某些方面的超语言知识而产生的。实践证明,超语言知识有助于译者正确地理解原文,因而在翻译过程中起着十分重要的作用。
Engaged in translation work, not only to master the two languages (the original language and the target language), but also to have a basic understanding of the object translated, and have the background knowledge of the translation of the object. When reading books and periodicals, I found a lot of mistranslations and mistranslations. Some of these mistakes were not caused by mistakes made by translators in interpreting primitives or inappropriate translations. They were due to the lack of certain linguistic knowledge of translators, produced. Practice has proved that the super-linguistic knowledge helps the translator to understand the original text correctly and thus plays an important role in the translation process.
