Low-tar cigarettes are the current trend of cigarette development in the world. It is not only to meet the needs of smokers, but also to protect the health of smokers. Low tar in the United States, Britain, Japan, Canada and West Germany, etc. Cigarettes account for 30-50% of the total output of cigarettes, which is still in the initial stage of development in our country. In recent years, although a few brands on the market, but can only form a small batch production, tar content is not stable. In 1979-1984, we carried out in-depth investigation and research on the chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco leaves, the tar content of flue gas, the botanical characteristics of flue-cured tobacco and the cultivation techniques for reducing the tar content of tobacco in the main tobacco-producing areas in China . Focus on understanding and human health closely related to tobacco, tar content, tobacco, tobacco smoke nicotine content, tar and nicotine ratio and other factors and the relationship between rolling low tar cigarettes. And on this basis, trial production of DJY-1 and other low-tar hybrid cigarettes. The modern anti-smoking campaign promoted the study of the relationship between smoking and health. Low-tar cigarettes being developed and produced by countries in the world can not only meet the needs of consumers but also greatly reduce the impact on consumers’ health. In the United States, Canada, West Germany, Britain and other countries, the production of low-tar cigarettes has accounted for 30 to 50% of the total output of cigarettes, winning more and more big markets. The average tar content of cigarettes in our country is 28.9 mg per unit, with high tar content, quite the level of the United States in the 1950s. Research on low-tar cigarettes in China started late, with only a few brands on the market. In 1979, I started to undertake the research task of reducing the smoke of agricultural products of Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries 16-5- (2), focusing on low-tar cigarette raw materials. After the 1979-1984 survey of the main chemical components of the tobacco leaf resources in China and on the basis of the census, the leaf position and other factors that affect the main chemical components of tobacco leaf flue gas were also studied. This article is a summary of the research on low tar cigarette raw materials.
