In order to investigate whether low-frequency electromagnetic waves can detect and monitor oily contaminated soil, a series of laboratory measurements were performed. The new measurement system monitors the resistivity of oil-contaminated soils and sandstone samples. The measurement frequency is 100 kHz. Since the measuring system consists of a coil transmitter and receiver, there is no need to bring the electrode into contact with the sample.
