比如现存于梵蒂冈博物馆的Augustus of Prima Porta雕像以及the marble revetment of the end wall of the so-called Aula del Colosso in the Augustus Forum in Rome。
It has not been until a systematic study in recent years that people have acquired a certain understanding of the color decoration and its technology in the sculpture of the Roman Empire. Careful analysis of some well-known works of art to reproduce the color. Such as the Augustus of Prima Porta statue now on the Vatican Museums and the marble revetment of the end wall of the so-called Aula del Colosso in the Augustus Forum in Rome. Now the research on the pigments of the Peace Altar Museum is under way. In this memorial, color does not refer exactly to the status of a plastic image or emphasize the relief of political information in a completely realistic way. However, this is not a general conclusion, as other contemporary sculptures such as the portrait of Cagliari the Great at Carlsberg Museum of Art in Copenhagen focus more on the natural effects of color. Many interesting new discoveries also come from the concern for marble decoration. Three popular decorations were used in ancient Greece (although more types and simplistic styles were identified in the post-Empire period), especially at funerals. In this area, with the help of lasers, new protection technologies make important discoveries possible. The importance of organic pigments from a technical point of view, such as shellac dyes and blue dyes, becomes more and more relevant. The purple application was found only in the Amazonian sarcophagus, an Etruscan sarcophagus in the Florentine National Museum of the fourth century BC. The development of adhesive knowledge is equally interesting. It will be necessary in the future to elaborate some standard procedures for analyzing and publishing the results to increase the likelihood of comparison and statistical processing.
