This paper discusses the advantages of the combination of transfer matrix method and mode superposition method in the calculation of structural seismic response. The paper proves that the frequency of the vibration frequency equation of the multi-degree-of-freedom flexural beam derived from the transfer matrix method is equal to the degree of freedom of the beam, thus establishing a theoretical basis for the correct application of the method in the vibration problem of the beam structure. In addition, the actual calculation of the natural frequency and mode shape, the specific practices that should be taken in order to achieve fast and accurate calculation results, and gives an example.
