The investigation and evaluation of water resources The establishment of an electronic map system is partly based on the verification and classification of the electronic data distributed by the Ministry of Water Resources. Another part of the work is to map the data in the database in the province and compile and edit its layers, Display output and production of thematic maps and other access to the results of the operation. The mapping of various hydrological station data is a basic work in water resources evaluation. The re-use of historical data is a powerful feature of Mapinfo. The large amount of database data accumulated over many years and the historical data saved as text (doc, txt) can be converted into tables and graphical objects of the Mapinfo system. However, the preprocessing of the raw data is very complicated, fully exploiting Mapinfo’s functions or using other tools
