由唐初政治家、史学家魏征等人编撰的《隋书·经籍志》(以下简称《隋志》),是继《汉书·艺文志》(以下简称《汉志》)之后我国又一部比较成功的综合性图书分类史志目录,这已为学术界所公认。我们认为,《隋志》在中国历史文献目录学方面也取得了巨大成就并产生了深远影响,它不仅以部、类序论形式界说各类历史文献的性质内容,阐述其渊源流变,对唐以前历史文献的形成和发展作了一次全面总结,而且首次提出“史部”概念,
