声波测井通常是指声波速度测井而言。声速测井是测量声波在井下地层中的传播速度。不同的地层具有不同的声波传播速度。因此,根据声波在地层中传播速度就可以研究地层的岩性,并进行井与井之间地层剖面对比。特别是岩石孔隙中充满油、水等流体时,由于它们的声速与岩石骨架相差较大,利用声波测井还可以研究岩石的孔隙度,从而使声波测井成为一种重要的孔隙度测井方法。
Acoustic logging is usually referred to as sonic velocity logging. Sonic logging is the measurement of acoustic velocity in the downhole formation. Different strata have different speed of sound wave propagation. Therefore, the lithology of the formation can be studied based on the propagation velocity of the acoustic wave in the formation, and the stratigraphic comparison between the well and the well can be conducted. In particular, when the rock pores are filled with fluids such as oil and water, the acoustic logging can also be used to study the porosity of rock due to the difference between the sound velocity and the rock skeleton, so that the acoustic logging becomes an important porosity logging method.
