十七年前,宁夏隆湖大地,是一片白茫茫的盐碱滩,如今一个3万多人的小城镇在这里奇迹般崛起。 江泽民总书记视察后,对这里的扶贫开发工作给予很高的评价。原全国人大常委会委员长乔石同志也曾来这里视察。国务院扶贫开发领导小组的同志,多次来隆湖指导工作,盛赞隆湖扶贫开发区是“扶贫开发的一个创举”。 1993年,宁夏回族自治区党委、区政府根据国家扶贫政策,结合当地实际提出了“以川济山,山川共济”的扶贫方针,决定将隆德县穷山沟里的部分农户,搬迁到千里之外的隆湖盐碱滩,走移民扶贫开发
