Objective To understand the quality of life of the retired cadres of the armed forces in Hubei Province and to analyze the influencing factors so as to provide reference for improving the quality of life of the retired cadres of the armed forces and improving the pension system for the military. Methods Using WHOQOL-100 and self-compiled questionnaires, 167 retired military cadres in Hubei Province were randomly selected. T-test, one-way ANOVA, multivariate linear regression analysis and other methods to study its influencing factors. Results The score of physical, psychological, social and environmental fields in the retired military cadres was statistically different from that of the elderly population in China. The score of physiological field was 61.6 ± 12.7, which was lower than the normal level of 64.9 ± 18.6 (t = 3.291, P <0.05). The score of psychology, social relations and environment were 67.9 ± 9.4,66.4 ± 7.5,67.6 ± 11.2, which were all higher than the 64.0 ± 16.9 (t = 5.428, P <0.01) 19.6 (t = 3.170, P <0.05), 62.1 ± 16.4 (t = 6.347, P <0.01). The quality of life of the retired cadres of the armed forces has some impact on the sex, age, marital status, educational level, whether participating in physical exercise or fitness activities, living care situation, the number of diseases, war experience, family friction and appetite. Conclusion The quality of life of the retired military officers in the armed forces, except for the physiological field, is generally good in the quality of life in other fields. The retired cadres should pay more attention to the physiological health, carry out comprehensive and comprehensive medical care services and improve the old-age security system for the armed forces.
