Zhao Yuan Ren, ancestral home Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, Fuyang County (now Wujin County), born in 1892 in Tianjin Zizhu Lin French Concession. In July 1910, the Qing court traveled to Beijing to study at the American Academy of Fine Arts. Zhao Yuanren was admitted with a second place record.
