我省本届修志工作已近尾声,一部分市县已开始着手或正准备转入地方简史的编写工作.如何在简史编写过程中利用好本届修志成果应是值得深入探讨的问题.从某种意义上说,充分利用本届修志成果是保证简史编写优质、高效的关键所在.成果之一:新编地方志——简史编写必备的案头书写简史,首先要确定的是观点,即史论.史与志不同,它不是靠大量资料的排比来反映某时某事,而是直接对某时某事做出剖析与评价,直陈其利害得失与经验教训.但观点,即史论不是凭空产生的,它是通过对大量史料进行分析、判断、综合、总结而得出的,同时它的陈述也需要史料的佐证.因此,写地方简史首先要掌握的还是史料——能够反映地方各时期面貌和社会发展趋势的大量史料.搜寻掌握这些史料的途径自然有许多,然而最便捷的途径无疑是查阅本届修志的主要成果——新编地方志.本届方志记述时限多溯自事物发端,而对新中国成立之后各项事业的发展变化记述尤详,这与简史研究的历史时限恰好一致.更重要的是新编地方志克服了旧志重人文轻经济的弊端,全面系统地记载了地方政治、经济、文化发展的诸方面,是最完整、最集中的地情载体.方志中的大事记,可以说是浓缩了的地方历史,它通过对地方历史上所发生的大事、要事的顺序记载,反映地方历史发展的进程,
