近年来随着采掘机械化的发展,井下粉尘生成量大大增加。本世纪二十年代起,矽肺病和煤肺病已成为采矿工业的一种主要职业病,如美国目前有75%的井下工人患煤肺病。此外煤尘飞扬后还可能引起爆炸,自1866年到目前的一百多年间世界上死亡人数超过三百人的重大煤尘爆炸事故已发生多起。因此许多国家对消除矿井煤尘灾害的研究也极为重视。现分述如下:
