从春小麦优良品种“东农120”的育成中证明,选育出综合性状优良的小麦品种是完全可能的。“东农120”不仅抗多种病害,而且高产又质佳。它的育成是在正确育种目标指导下,采用复合杂交,以逐步达到综合多方面的优良性状;并对杂种后代的选择是在促进选择性状易于表现和鉴别的条件下,根据各性状遗传性稳定的早晚按世代分先后;根据育种目标的主次分前后,采取选择性状由少到多,逐步达到全面综合选择的方式。说明这些措施对选育出综合性状优良的品种是十分有效的。
