The Kingdom of Lesotho is surrounded by the Republic of South Africa, which means that across the border from any of Lesotho’s borders, you must land on South Africa. Lesotho has a land area of 30,400 square kilometers and two-thirds is mountainous, lacking in resources and agriculture and animal husbandry make up a large proportion of GNP. The harsh living environment has given the average life expectancy of Lesotho only four or five years.
