The first overseas Chinese and Chinese-American youth camp held in North China has long been concluded, but the rich activities left a memorable impression on the campers. A total of 57 participants from the United States, Canada and Japan attended the event. A few overseas Chinese and Chinese-speaking young student representatives who borrowed in Beijing also attended the event. Campers are mostly between the ages of seventeen and thirty and the youngest are only eight years old. Campers include professors, PhDs, overseas Chinese leaders, physicians, primary school children, 10,000 people, general staff and housewives, but most of them are secondary and college students. Their ancestral homes are respectively over 10 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Taiwan. Most of their fathers have studied, lived and worked in various parts of the mainland and are now well-established overseas. Many overseas Chinese community leaders have become the country of residence. In recent years, they have come to the mainland and have witnessed the changes in economic construction and other aspects of the mainland. They also hope that their children can come back to see. The summer camp co-organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Department of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia from July 21 to August 9 has a total of 20 days of activities.
