现代科学多形态的发展和科技文献数量和结构的不断变化,使得任何一部图书分类法都必须不断修订才能维持其在图书分类实践中的地位,才能不至于被淘汰。现代科学的发展变化对图书分类法影响最大的是体系结构的变化。首先是科学体系的最基础结构——超级结构的变化,反映在图书分类法中就是基本部类的重新确立。例如“综合科学”这一新崛起的科学部类几乎在以往图书分类法中没有反映,而在修订中就应专立一个大类或是变通分散予以揭示。《中图法》第三版修订研讨会上也曾是一大议题,但结果众议纷争,没有定论。
The multi-modal development of modern science and the ever-changing quantity and structure of scientific and technological documents have made it necessary for any book classification method to be constantly revised in order to maintain its position in the book classification practice so that it can not be eliminated. The impact of the development of modern science on the book taxonomy is the change of architecture. The first is the most basic structure of the scientific system - changes in the super structure, reflected in the book taxonomy is the re-establishment of the basic categories. For example, the newly emerging science department, “integrated science”, has not been reflected in nearly the past book taxonomies. Instead, it should be disclosed either as a major category or as a flexible alternative. The third edition of the “CLC” revision seminar was also a major issue, but as a result, there was no conclusion on the controversy.
