The conventional method of determining the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content of a material is found by standard methods of heavy compaction. When the pellet content is below 50%, the result is correct, but the method takes time and labor, and when the content of the pellet is bigger than 50%, the routine measurement result is incorrect. In order to solve this contradiction, this paper proposed a rapid determination method of the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content of the semi-rigid base material with pellets, and gave the results of measurement. The results are basically consistent with the measured values.
