On the corporate intranet, there are a large number of Windows 9x computers working as workstations, hosting a wide variety of sharable resources on different Windows 9x machines. For these shared resources, different users should have different access rights. In terms of network management, it requires both authorized users to conveniently share these resources, and also requires restrictions on those who can access these shared resources. If you use the shared mechanism provided by Windows 9x itself, although you can achieve the sharing, but can not provide to meet the control requirements. While Windows NT can meet this requirement, it is obviously impossible to require that all machines be installed or replaced with Windows NT. So can we use Windows NT’s security management mechanism to manage Windows 9x resources? Back to wait for the affirmative. In a LAN composed of Windows NT and Windows 9x, Windows 9x can take advantage of the shared management mechanisms provided by Windows NT to share workstations’ resources safely and easily.
