在珞珈山南侧的半山上,我校新建成了一个电波综合观测站(见封底照片)。该地区视野宽广、交通便利、供电方便、水源充足,是一建筑科研基地的良好场所。观测站现备有5米抛物面天线,即改进型卡塞格伦天线,工作在12GC频率附近,效果达65%以上,实际增益54.26db。天线馈源喇叭采用多模喇叭。结构采用薄壳与桁架相结合的型式,高14米,设有工作平台,足以完成对卫星和太阳的观测研究。除天线外,其他设备也初步配套,采用同步电机跟踪,主机及控制系统、电机系统等均安装就绪。
